After a successful inaugural event this past February at Killip Elementary School, the United Way of Northern Arizona (UWNA) is excited to host its second Literacy Fair on Friday, August 16, at Foxglenn Park from 9 to 11 a.m.
This event, themed “Stories Under the Sun,” continues UWNA’s mission to promote early childhood and youth development by nurturing a culture of literacy in our community. Once again partnering with The Literacy Center and supported through a grant from Read On Arizona, the Literacy Fair will bring together families, educators, and community organizations to share the joy of reading.
The fair is primarily geared toward children ages 3 to 8, but there will also be activities and resources for older kids up to age 11. Just like last time, attendees can expect fun literacy games, engaging storytimes, and a chance for every child to go home with a new book.
Join Us for a Morning of Reading and Fun
Whether you attended our first Literacy Fair or are just hearing about it for the first time, we hope you’ll join us for Stories Under the Sun at Foxglenn Park. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support your child’s love of reading, connect with community resources, and enjoy a morning of learning and play in a beautiful outdoor setting.
We are grateful to our partners for this event – Bookmans, Desert Financial, PNC, Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth, First Things First, Flagstaff Unified School District, and Northern Arizona University.
